iseemedia Inc. , a leading supplier of rich content adaptation and delivery solutions for wireless, today announced the launch of a new wireless mobile publishing service with Etisalat, the leading telecommunications supplier in the Middle East. This service will be announced at Gitex Technology Week 2008 in Dubai, UAE and it is expected to be launched soon after the show.
Both organizations have undertaken technical and extensive market testing to deliver newspapers and magazines to wireless handsets. Etisalat is working with one of UAE's largest media groups, Abu Dhabi Media Company, which owns two popular newspapers, 3 radio stations and 5 television channels in the UAE, and is well positioned to generate mobile advertising revenue.
The inaugural content adaptation publishing service will begin with its English Language publication, soon followed by Arabic publications, and will be available for free to over 7 million wireless subscribers on the Etisalat mobile network. The service will be based purely on generating revenue through advertising on the mobile devices and Etisalat, iseemedia and the print publishers will share advertising revenues to support the service.
Chief Marketing Officer at Etisalat, Essa Al Haddad, claimed "Our new service will usher a new experience and convenience in mobile news and information distribution to our customers. The participation of some of the leading print publishers in the Middle East market will attract subscribers to read their favorite newspapers and magazines anywhere, anytime, on their mobile."
iseepublish technology from iseemedia offers rich media streaming of digital magazines and newspapers to mobile devices so that users can view publications that look and read as if they came from the newsstand and interact as if they were web applications. The mobile content adaptation and publishing platform fully automates and manages the complete mobile content publishing cycle and enables new revenue generating opportunities by allowing publishers real-time control of ads and other services from a Web interface.
CEO of iseemedia, Anthony DeCristofaro stated, "Our market testing has proven successful. The interest shown by publishers and wireless service subscribers has given us confidence to deliver the service on a pure advertising revenue sharing model. We anticipate good subscriber interest and even minimal penetration initially would result in a significant impact on wireless revenues in the coming months ahead. We look forward to expanding the service with more publishers to the platform once we go live."
